ZitaFTP Server and Why You Should Use FTPS instead of Plain FTP By Kea Sigma Delta

Source: Sniffing/Stealing FTP Passwords; Or, Why You Should Use FTPS instead of Plain FTP » Kea Sigma Delta

Plain FTP is insecure, and it’s pretty easy to sniff your username and password. Anyone who manages to connect to your network can capture network traffic, sniff out your FTP password, and then access/steal your files. Tools to do so are readily available.

The bottom line is: do NOT use plain FTP for file transfer if you value your data. Or, stick to plain FTP and risk being hacked. It’s up to you.

Personally, I value security. That’s why I wrote ZitaFTP Server. It’s a secure FTP server (i.e., an FTPS server). The password sniffing techniques shown above only work with plain FTP (and HTTP), and fail the moment secure connections are used. I highly recommend you stop using insecure plain FTP, and use FTPS instead. Yes, even within your own private network.

Hollywood 8: Supremacy out now! – Hollywood forum

After 12 months of development, Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are proud to present the best Hollywood ever: Hollywood 8: Supremacy. Version 8.0 is a massive update with many new features and bug fixes. The most important new feature is full RapaGUI support on Android, which allows you to create GUIs for Android devices using Hollywood. As always with RapaGUI, only native widgets are used so the GUIs look and feel completely native. This is a truly unique feature because no other software allows you to create native GUIs for Amiga (MUI), Windows, macOS, Linux (GTK+), and Android! On top of that, there are tons of other new features, bug fixes, and improvements.

 The Advanced Visual Developer status

The Advanced Visual Developer software by BitbyBit software status update! The Advanced Visual Developer project is intended to bring high level, professional visual development tools to the AmigaOS4(tm) platform.

As written by Jamie Krueger,

Hello everyone,

For any of you that may have seen my presentations at the
last AmiWest show, or read my post below, we (Amiga On The Lake
and myself) announced that there be a significant update to
AVD released to the current owners by December 5th of this year.

Also scheduled for the 5th was the new listing for the
“AVD Early adopter’s special offer” to go up on AOTL’s
store, where new customers have a final chance to
purchase the commercial AVD Suite at the Pre-release
price of $199 before AVD 1.0 is released.

So, for those of you keeping track, the 5th was a few days ago,
and nothing has yet appeared on either site.

Do not despair :-), there has been some unavoidable
delays since returning from AmiWest at the end of October
which have pushed back the intended release for Dec. 5th.
